Provides excellent service to National Life Group's - Hopkins House guests and co-workers in performing all housekeeping duties. Supervises all housekeeping employees, has the authority to hire or discharge, plans and assigns work assignments, give training for newly recruited employees, audit and inspects housekeeping personal work assignment and requisition supplies. Take care of the budget and budget controlling for the department.  Plans the work for Hopkins House and distributes assignments accordingly. Assigns regular duties and special duties for housekeeping staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cleanliness, orderliness and appearance of Hopkins House.
  • Manages Log Book and computer system for reservations and changes to occupancy
  • Schedules and supervises other housekeeping staff.
  • Train, supervise and monitor the quality of work of other housekeepers.
  • Inventory, order and stock the laundry room with all needed equipment and supplies per guidelines provided.
  • Maintain professional appearance and supervise use of housekeeping vehicle.
  • Report daily to the manager.
  • Informs manager of all activities and any needs prior to the shift’s end.
  • Prepare Daily Checklist of duties assigned for all staff.
  • Develop and implement Housekeeping systems and procedures.
  • Daily inspection of public areas and kitchen.
  • Coordinate the preventive maintenance schedule of rooms and public area with maintenance department.
  • Immediately attend to guest requests
  • Prepare reports for management information, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities required

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of housekeeping experience, preferably as a supervisor.
  • Proficiency in computer skills to include but not limited to Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Excellent hospitality skills required.
  • High School Diploma preferred or GED.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and other personnel.
  • Must be proficient in English.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
  • Be able to work with appliances in the kitchen and laundry for preparing and cleaning up of breakfast, or other meal times as directed, and cleaning of rooms and bathrooms.

 

Miscellaneous:

Flexibility is required. We may ask you to work a split shift, meaning working in the morning and then returning to work later in the day. A high level of guest service is expected. A strong teamwork ethic is also required and all coworkers should also be considered as guests. Adherence to all company policies is required.
