Giving up our “Dream Job” to pursue another dream.

We are looking for a couple to replace us as the Property Managers of Silver Skis Chalet.

Silver Skis Chalet is one building consisting of 60 privately owned condominiums at the base of Crystal Mountain Resort. We rent out condos when they are not occupied by owners. As you might imagine, it can get quite busy and being organized and attentive is the key to success.

I encourage you to visit online for more info and to get a feeling of what it is like here. We are in a remote location (45 minutes to the closest grocery store) and are at a dead end during the winter months when the passes are closed.

My husband and I have had the honor to work here for the past 12 years. During that time, we have met many great people and have truly embraced the “small community” that surrounds us. I will not sugar-coat it… our jobs are demanding, yet very rewarding too.

Crystal Mountain Resort operates seasonally, so our rental operation mimics the resort’s schedule. Silver Skis is usually closed to rentals in May and in October each year. Winter months are extremely busy. Be ready to dedicate yourselves to a demanding, sometimes hectic, full-time job. The ability to wear many hats and have flexibility is very important. The ability to “think ahead” and be prepared is definitely a plus.

Together, we manage all of the operations at Silver Skis. We handle it as if it were our own business. We are searching for the right candidates to fill our shoes and continue caring for the business, the building, the owners and the guests.

Hotel Manager:

Directs the day-to-day operations and activities. Manages personnel, collects payments, monitors budgets, and evaluates company performance. Very approachable and detail oriented. Monitors reservations, check-in & out Guests and Owners, answers phones, daily audits, cash register, credit card processing and bank deposits. Knowledge of QuickBooks (Payroll, A/P, A/R, Managing Budgets, Owners Charges). Oversees daily Houskeeping and Front Desk operations. Responsible for hiring, scheduling and supervising staff, ordering supplies, linen replacements, organizing and inventories. Creates Owners calendars (2 times per year) and enters Owners reservations. Keeps excellent records (including  emails, owners requests, guests requests, waitlists, and housekeeping charges). Oversees and inspects housekeeping (including condo inspections, training of staff, inventory & ordering). Schedules Deep Cleans and Carpet Cleanings. In charge of marketing, advertising, rate sheets, monthly reports, quarterly reports, yearly reports. Responsible for monthly USFS Reports and acts as a liaison between HOA, Crystal Mountain, and USFS. Orders Owners parking passes, organizes Owners Annual Meeting (including food, venue, and Meeting Re-cap). Develops strong rapport with Owners and Guests. Excellent communication and organization skills. On-call 24/7.


Maintenance Manager:

Oversees the installation, repair and upkeep of the property, including machines, mechanical systems, the building and other structures. Has a strong understanding of plumbing and electrical systems, as well as carpentry and other crafts. Well-versed in all maintenance process and health and safety regulations. Ensures all policies are complied with. Develops procedures and ensures implementation. Carries out individual condo inspections (2 times per year) to identify and resolve any issues. Plans and oversees all repairs and installation activities. Manages relationships with contractors and acts as a liaison between the HOA and Crystal Mountain. Maintains maintenance logs and daily activity reports. Solid knowledge of pool systems, codes, and excellent record keeping. Troubleshoots issues with all appliances and televisions. Maintains BBQs, plowing, snow removal, de-icer, trash removal, as well as landscaping and flowers. Performs Laundry runs and stocking. Maintains small equipment including ice maker, washer/dryers, vending machines, snow blower, lawn mower, etc. Operates and maintains John Deere. Oversees maintenance department and helper including scheduling, ordering supplies, inventories (tools, mtnc supplies, lightbulbs, etc.), parking lot signage and parking enforcement, meter readings, Owners requests and Owners charges, Satellite and Internet systems. Maintains company vehicle. Has good rapport with Owners and Guests. Attends Board meetings. On-call 24/7.
